Student Artists Wanted for Water Conservation Poster Contest

Citrus County Utilities is seeking student participation in the 2022 “Drop Savers” poster contest. The contest is part of Keep Citrus County Beautiful’s Annual Save Our Waters Week campaign and the Florida Section of American Water Works Association’s statewide “Drop Savers” poster contest. 

Student Artists Wanted for Water Conservation Poster Contest

Students in grades K-12 are encouraged to create a poster depicting a water-saving idea, in either slogan form, drawing form, or both. In support of the U.S. EPA Water Sense program’s Fix A Leak Week initiative, the contest will help raise awareness to the nearly 1 trillion gallons of water wasted from household leaks each year.

Posters will be judged by grade level as follows: Division 1 – Kindergarten and 1st grades; Division 2 -2nd and 3rd grades; Division 3 – 4th and 5th grades; Division 4 – 6th through 8th grades; Division 5 – 9th through 12th grades.

A twenty-five-dollar cash prize will be awarded to the county-wide first place winners in each of the five divisions. In addition, a fifty-dollar cash prize will be awarded to each division winner’s school to be used for art supplies, as well as a plaque displaying the winning artwork.
