It’s sticky!

It’s humid!

(Well, it’s been that way for the past month but now officially)

IT’S SUMMER!

Hot and sticky and humid does not stop the fun in Old Homosassa!

And the summertime fun starts this weekend with the

19th Homosassa River Fireworks Festival & Poker Run

hosted by MacRae’s of Homosassa and Homosassa Riverside Resort

The Poker Run starts at 8 AM on Saturday!  Zowie! That’s early! (Does anyone actually start at 8 am?)

There’s a lot of other events at many of our local establishments.  Like last year’s pie-eating contest.

Here’s the kids’ version….

There are also booths set up. The Old Homosassa Heritage Council will have one with happy volunteers with t-shirts, coozies, and raffle tickets for your donation!

And bands at the pubs and restaurants all day and night.

BUT THE BIG DEAL IS THE FIREWORKS.

Starting at about 9:00 pm.

You might know by now that I take a lot of photographs.  And I gotta say this is an amazing fireworks show and because I can get up close this is a photographers dream!

So.  What will you be doing this Saturday?

Maybe, going to Old Homosassa?
