Temporary Partial Closure of Lake Townsen Park

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on September 22, 2023

Brooksville, FL – Hernando County Parks and Recreation is temporarily closing a portion of the entrance at Lake Townsen Park located at 28011 Lake Lindsey Rd., Brooksville, FL 34601 beginning Monday, September 25 for maintenance and improvements. The Park will remain open to the public during this time.

For those wanting to access the boat ramp, an alternative entrance will be available East of the Lake Townsen main entrance, on Lake Lindsey Rd., past the Withlacoochee State Trail. The contractor will provide signage for parking and the boat ramp entry during the partial closure.

The Lake Townsen Park improvements will consist of the installation of a new ADA-compliant sidewalk and handicap parking. The ADA sidewalk is designed to parallel the road to the boat ramp and the Withlacoochee State Trail. The current route to the boat ramp will also be widened with the ADA sidewalk extending to the start of the ramp. The installation of this project is anticipated to be completed by February 2024.
