UF/IFAS Extension Kicks Off Annual Peanut Butter Challenge

The Peanut Butter Challenge is an annual jar collection for local food pantries hosted by Citrus County’s
UF/IFAS Extension and Florida A&M University (FAMU) Cooperative Extension.

UF/IFAS Extension Kicks Off Annual Peanut Butter Challenge

Launched in the Florida Panhandle in 2012, it is again “spreading” statewide this year.

Thanks to community members, last year 278 jars (totaling more than 336 pounds) of peanut butter were
donated to local food pantries here in Citrus County.

Unopened, unexpired peanut butter jars of any size can be donated to Citrus County Extension office
(located at 3650 W Sovereign Path in Lecanto) or Citrus County Resource Center (2804 W Marc Knighton
Ct in Lecanto) until October 31, 2023.
