Growing and Cooking with Herbs
UF/IFAS Extension Citrus County is providing a free program on discovering the many flavorful culinary herbs well-suited for Citrus County gardens, and how to incorporate them to create healthier, tastier meals.
Class will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Homosassa Public Library (4100 S Grandmarch Ave, Homosassa).

Water Bath Canning
Learn how to safely preserve your food using the water bath canning method. This hands-on class will teach the basics of pickling vegetables using the water bath canning method. Participants will make and take home a freshly canned jar of their own.
Class will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Citrus County Canning Center (3405 W. Southern Street, Lecanto).

Class on Water Conservation
While some people go to extremes to save water, you don’t have to. UF/IFAS Extension Citrus County is providing a free program on Water Conservation: Simple Ways to Save Water.
Fixing leaks and installing a few inexpensive water-saving devices in your home could save more than
30,000 gallons of water each year. There is an even greater opportunity for savings outdoors. Join experts
to discuss simple ways to save water without sacrifices. Simple strategies to save time, money and water
will be discussed.
