The Uptown Art Gallery was established in 1998, in cooperation with the Hernando Fine Arts Council and the City of Brooksville, and is the permanent home of the Hernando Heritage Quilt.  The quilt is made up of 22 blocks, with each block portraying a part of the county’s history.  A catalog of the works by the artist, Mary A. Coogler (1879-1957), is archived at the Gallery and the Gallery also holds an extensive private collection of donated works that include the Lewis Watkins’ Historical Prints.
