Break out your dance moves for a good cause! Saint Leo’s Social Justice Committee and Premier Community HealthCare are hosting a Zumba® dance-a-thon from10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, November 4.

The event will include door prizes, health and wellness resource booths, and healthy snacks and will take place at Saint Leo University’s Wellness Center, 33701 County Road 52, St. Leo, FL 33574. The Wellness Center is located on the banks of Lake Jovita on the west side of the campus, behind Benedictine Hall.

This dance-for-a-cause event is a fundraiser in support of Premier’s CARE Fund to provide equitable access to health care to residents of Pasco and Hernando county residents. The nonprofit Premier provides affordable health care in order to create a community in which everyone is healthy.

“From our inception in 1979, Premier Community HealthCare has held true to its mission and vision of providing accessible health care services by providing high-quality and affordable care to those in need regardless of their ability to pay,” the organization’s 2022-2023 annual report states. In 2022, 44,204 patients were served.

The Zumba dance-a-thon will be led by Saint Leo’s own Dr. Georgina Rivera-Singletary, licensed instructor, chair of Premier’s board of directors and professor of graduate education, and her Zumba colleagues say Jeanne Tarver, Amy Jones, and Patty Sanchez.

Everyone is invited to help raise funds in a fun way to provide access to health care!

The cost for the event is as follows:

• Pre-event registration is $20.
• At-the-door cost is $25.
• Students ages 13 and older cost is $10 with student ID.
• Children ages 5 to 12 are free with on-site participant parent or guardian.
